ABOUT

Hi, Good to See You!
Grace is a performer originally from Mason, Ohio (born and raised!), and she is a recent alum of
Wright State University, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting with a Musical Theatre Emphasis. She first fell in love with the art of performing/creating when she did a middle school theatre camp at the age of 10, and she has loved performing ever since! Goodwin grew up watching all of the Old Hollywood movie musicals, and anytime Rita Moreno would pop on the screen at home when she watched West Side Story, she would dance along with her during "America", as a fellow performer of Puerto Rican heritage. Her favorite choreographers are Jerome Robbins, Michael Bennett, and especially Bob Fosse, having put up a Bob Fosse Cabaret in Wright State's Jubilee Directing Lab where she set multiple numbers and invited original choreo in Fosse's style. To her, there is something so incredibly visceral about storytelling in theatre with movement, so that is why she is drawn to stories that give her the opportunity to do such, in addition to scrappy yet stately golden age sopranos like Marian Paroo or Maria Rainer. After graduation, Grace plans to move to New York City within the next year in order to further pursue a career in musical theatre.
The following are some of her dream roles:
- Anita- West Side Story
- Cassie, Diana, or Val- A Chorus Line
- Sally Bowles- Cabaret
- Louise- Gypsy
- Velma Kelly- Chicago
- Aldonza/Dulcinea- Man of La Mancha
- Amalia Ballash- She Loves Me
- Bea- Something Rotten!
- Reno Sweeney- Anything Goes
- Polly Baker- Crazy for You
A little fun fact about her is that she took Martial Arts as a kid! She took karate lessons from ages 6-11 and stopped right after she earned her black belt!
“At the end of the day, give up your worries and give thanks for the journey.” – Ben Vereen

Off the Stage
Outside of performing onstage, Grace enjoys several hobbies that keep her occupied. As someone who is very passionate about fitness, she is currently studying online at the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in order to become certified as a Personal Trainer and a Group Fitness Instructor, so she can hope to learn more about her instrument while inspiring others to do the same and learn what is best for their own journeys of health. In her free time, she loves to thrift, go on nature walks, hang out with her friends--often being the bartender on duty (Note that she makes a mean espresso martini!)--and getting some iced coffee and sitting down with a good book. Her favorite coffee is an Iced Blondie from 7Brew. :)
